Dragon Quest IX was a smashing success in Japan due to its StreetPass map trading. That feature didn’t exactly take off in the West, so Square Enix is bringing the StreetPass Stone trading in Dragon Quest VII online.
The Immigrant Town, a village players can build by recruiting characters to live there. You can build a lottery stand, casino, and tavern. The tavern allows players to swap Streetpass Stones over the Internet.
StreetPass Stones can be brought to the Immigrant Town to open up new dungeons and see special story scenes.
Players can obtain StreetPass Stones by creating a party of three monsters and sending them into a cave.
You recruit monsters the same way as you did in Dragon Quest VII for PsOne. Monsters will ask to join you in battle after you damage them. Monsters live inside the Monster Park and Dragon Quest VII for 3DS lets you can talk to them.
Dragon Quest VII comes out on February 7 for Nintendo 3DS.
