Dragon Quest X: The Slumbering Hero and Sworn Guiding Ally is beginning the steady drip feed of info leading up to its 5th December release in Japan, with Square Enix detailing the four major points the expansion will bring to the game.
Getting to the new continent will require sea travel. Players can head to the port town of Rendoa and hop on the Grand Titus to be taken to the mysterious land of Rendashia. There, players will find brand new areas such as Coniu Plains, Deferu Wilds, Rinjarahu Coast and the territory of Gran Zedora.
Within the many areas, players will run across new characters such as amnesiac Mishua or mysterious stranger Crows, the latter whose path will constantly criss-cross with players as they explore the new land.
Fans of Dragon Quest Monsters will be happy to know the new class will be the Beast Master. Players will have to scout and recruit monsters on the field, before being able to bring them along as AI companions during battles. These monsters can level up as well.
With the surefire bet many players will be swapping to the new class and fiddling around with it quickly, The Slumbering Hero and Sworn Guiding Ally will also be bringing several new monsters in to populate the world. Some are returning favorites from previous titles while others are all new, such as the Killer Panthers, Battle Rex (Or Hacksaurus in the West) and Mash slimes (That’s really what they’re called)
Finally, what Dragon Quest game would be complete without mini-games? The casino is finally open for business, and lets players get some gambling in with slots or roulette tables.
Dragon Quest X: The Slumbering Hero and Sworn Guiding Ally will be out for PC, Wii U and Wii December 5th. Prior to that, the PC version of the original Dragon Quest X will be out September 26th.
