Dragon Quest XI Patch 1.01 Gives People More Name Options And Adds Graphic Settings

People with copies of Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age will have an update waiting for them the next time they go to play while connected to the internet. Dragon Quest XI patch 1.01 has been released. While the PlayStation 4 version’s adjustments are not as extensive as those for the PC, both iterations of the game are getting some substantial alterations.

One of the biggest changes actually involves names. When people name the hero at the outset of the adventure, some names are being labeled as “prohibited,” even though there is nothing wrong or offensive about them. (One such name is “Robert.”) Square Enix has fixed that.

Here is the full list of PlayStation 4 and PC Dragon Quest XI patch 1.01 notes from Square Enix:

PlayStation 4

  1. We’ve identified a bug which can sometimes cause the game to crash when the player is 300m away from their horse on the field, this has been fixed.
  2. People’s names (such as “Robert”) have been removed from the list of prohibited words when selecting the main character’s name at the beginning of the game.
  3. Multiple text bugs have been fixed.

Steam
