As for the 3DS version of the game, you’ll have the option to switch between 3D Mode and 2D mode. One shows lively monsters in battle while the other brings back a nostalgic look.

Next, let’s take a look at how you encounter monsters on the field.

In the PS4 version, you’ll start battles by touching a monster on the field or in a dungeon. From here you’ll get to use commands such as “Attack” or “Spell” to take them on. By defeating monsters you’ll gain experience points and become stronger.

You can start with an edge by hitting an enemy with a preemptive strike.

You’ll occasionally come across sleeping monsters on the fields at night.

On the 3DS version’s 3D Mode, monsters will chase you down after noticing you out there in the field.

You’ll also get to have a preemptive strike advantage by hitting monsters first.

Since 2D Mode is all about the old school feel, it’ll have random encounters.

And finally, let’s take a look at some spells and abilities for both versions of the game. In addition to attacking with weapons, you’ll get to use all kinds of familiar spells and abilities.
