Indonesian developer Digital Happiness has released an update for its Fatal Frame-esque horror game DreadOut. It also teases that Act 2 of the game will be out soon.

The first difference is that the game’s engine framework has been updated in order to prepare for the forthcoming Act 2, which you can see some fresh screenshots of here (and below). Do note that this update will wipe your saves, so if you’re part of the way through the game, it’s best to avoid updating for now.

Also worth noting is that this new version is optimized for 32-bit systems those on 64-bit will see some texture downgrade. This will be resolved with a hi-res texture pack to be released later. This new version also discards multi-language system for the time being – it will be restored at a later date.

The other big change with this update is that DreadOut Act 0 Prologue (the original demo) has now been integrated into the main game. You can download it separately on Steam for free.

If you haven’t already purchased DreadOut then you can grab it on Steam at $14.99 for Windows, Mac, and Linux. Check out the game’s website for more details. More screenshots from DreadOut Act 2 are below.
