Dx2 Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation Details Its Game System, A Look At More Key Characters And Demons

Atlus shared the latest on Dx2 Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation, an upcoming smartphone game made by Sega with a closer look at key characters, demons, and info on its game system and world.  

In Dx2 Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation, players can take advantage of the “Demon Negotiation” feature to converse and befriend demons. Another familiar element from the series is the “Demon Fusion” that allows you to fuse demons to create new ones, and the “Press Turn Battle” system that increases your number of actions when hitting an enemy’s weakness.   There’s also a completely original “Aura Gate” feature that is unique to the game, and it involves exploring 3D dungeons. The above image provides a glimpse but we’ll learn more on a later date.   The concept behind Dx2 Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation’s demons is to bring demons into the real world, and the developers are doing that by aiming for high-quality demon models that go beyond what you see in average smartphone games.   Here’s a look at a few demons:   Hathor         Thor   Horkos     The scenario is being written by Makoto Fukami, known for working on the Psycho-Pass anime and film. It also features character designs by Tatsurou Iwamoto, best known for his work in the Ace Attorney series.   Here’s a bit on the prologue:   Devil Downloaders, also known as “Dx2.” That’s what they call those with the ability to summon demons from a smartphone app.   After being led by a mysterious man, who passed along his powers, you become a member of a secret organization called “Liberators” tasked with protecting the world, and together with a popular video maker Megakin, find yourselves caught in a battle between Dx2 users.   The enemy is known as the “Acolytes.” They are another group of Dx2 users who take actions based on their own philosophy. Those who scale high on their “Sympathy Index” are considered obstacles to their objective, and they’ve been secretly eliminating them.   On the other side of a peaceful society, the malice of mankind is quietly but surely spreading, as the battle between Devil Downloaders reaches new heights.       Here’s a look at some new key characters:   Protagonist (Male)   Taro Fuse (Code Name: Megakin) Rika Ryuzoji (Code Name: Tempura Dragon) Dx2 Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation is in development for iOS and Android.
