Emergency Mayhem rises from Acclaim’s grave, reborn as a Wii game

Before Acclaim kicked the bucket they were developing Emergency Mayhem, a Crazy Taxi meets mini-game collection for the Xbox and PlayStation 2. Players hop into an emergency vehicle (read: ambulance/fire truck/police car) and drive in an open city to missions. The surprise is the “emergencies” are comical in nature. That’s the concept and Codemaster’s decided to stick with it. After speeding to the scene you may find yourself shooting monkeys with a banana gun in one the thirty mini-games.

Emergency Mayhem was first announced in 2004, so it’s been in limbo for about three years. We’ll finally get to see it in 2008 in a fitting place, the Wii. It doesn’t look like Codemasters spent much to change the graphics, but Wii remote control should add variety to the mini games.
