En Garde!’s Swashbuckling Swordplay Focuses On Making Every Fight A Spectacle

En Garde! pits an acrobatic swordswoman against a mastermind and his horde of guards, letting players fight and parry several opponents at once, all while using the environment to trip them up while taunting them the entire time.

Players will control Adalia de Volador, a noble swordswoman whose family palace has been seized, helping her use a variety of abilities with her rapier to deal with groups of guards all at once. Players can use acrobatic flips and tumbles to move out of harm’s way, counter or strike before imminent attacks with some in-game indicators of when a slash is incoming, as well as knock down chandeliers, kick over fences, or knock objects at foes to send them stumbling, making them weak to a follow-up attack. Players can also take a moment to taunt their stymied foes, letting players feel like the confident fighter they’re controlling.
