I’m guessing some of you saw the “I’m Sorry” note Atlus posted last week. Siliconera reader Hayden reminded us of it through a tip (thanks!!) and it’s officially connected to the announcement of Dokapon Kingdom. Atlus will release the RPG / board game hybrid on October 14. You can play Dokapon Kingdom alone, but it’s a game best experienced with friends since you compete to become the hero. Atlus emphasizes the competitive nature of Dokapon Kingdom in the trailer below.

You can see some of the classes in the game, which players get to choose from. The full job selection includes: Warrior, Magician, Thief, Alchemist, Priest, Magic Swordsmen, Martial Artists, and Ninjas. In combat players register attacks by pressing one of four face buttons (on the PlayStation 2 version). While the options are visible for both combatants, the selected attack is kept a secret until both players select an option.
Similar to Baroque, Dokapon Kingdom will come out for the PlayStation 2 and Wii. Sting will finish their work on the Wii version on July 7th, the same day a Dokapon game comes out for the Nintendo DS. Atlus has not announced if they plan to localize Dokapon Journey at this time.
