NIS America announced people can now try Etrange Overlord ahead of its new game’s debut, as a demo is live on various storefronts. Save data from the trial will carry over once the full game releases later in March 2026. There’s also a new trailer that highlights how its gameplay works and gives us a chance to hear some of the music that will appear in the action-RPG.
In Etrange Overlord, we follow a young woman named Etrange von Rosenburg who ended up framed for an assassination attempt and murdered as a result. This led to her being sent to hell, where she’s now fighting back and attempting to become an overlord. The gameplay trailer doesn’t really focus on story elements, instead showing footage of fights involving Etrange and three allies assaulting enemies. It will be possible to play the full game alone or with up to three others assisting you. The announcement didn’t note if the demo will support multiplayer as well, but it did confirm the trial lets us play up to stage 2-4.
Here’s the full Etrange Overlord demo trailer. While it says it is out now, it isn’t showing up on Steam or the PlayStation Store as of time of writing and the eShop page isn’t live yet.
Etrange Overlord will come to the Switch, PS4, PS5, and PC on March 26, 2026, and the demo will debut on March 12, 2026.
