Evangelion Unit 13 Model Kit Figure Returns

Kotobukiya announced its Evangelion Unit 13 model kit figure is coming back. It first showed up in 2020. The model kit costs ¥9,680 yen (or about $65), and it is expected to release in April 2024 in Japan. Pre-orders for the new Unit 13 model kit are now open from the Kotobukiya online store. As a reminder, Kotobukiya offers a variety of overseas shipping options through associated partners, though those tend to release a few months after the Japanese versions.

The model kit comes with a variety of parts. These include two Spears of Longinus, several hand parts, four defensive drones, four long and four short support pillars, alongside support bases for the drones, storage pieces for the drones, and an alternate chest piece compatible with four sets of arms to transform the unit into its upgraded form.

Unit 13 is a mecha that appeared in the Rebuild of Evangelion series of movies, making its first appearance in Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo. This Evangelion unit is a unique one, as it needs two pilots in order to function. In the movie, it was piloted by both Shinji Ikari and Kaworu Nagisa.

The new Evangelion Unit 13 model kit figure expected release date is sometime in April 2024 in Japan. The Rebuild of Evangelion movies are streaming on Amazon Prime.
