Sony Computer Entertainment America revealed that they are going to be releasing six downloadable quest packs for Folklore. The news is a little out of the blue because Folklore has been out for months in Japan under the name FolksSoul and we haven’t heard anything about them. Each pack contains four quests, a new costume and a new Folks.
Even though Folklore isn’t exactly a traditional RPG, I hope the next generation of RPGs jumps on the downloadable quest bandwagon. Idea Factory is trying the model out by releasing extra missions for Absolute: Blazing Infinity on the Xbox 360 and I love how Mistwalker has a random dungeon creator for Blue Dragon. Lost Odyssey is going to have downloadable content too, but so far only a handful of RPGs are testing the waters.
