Expect More Paid DLC From Square Enix’s Console Games

Square Enix dabbled with paid downloadable content for some of their console games. Nier, Front Mission Evolved, and Mindjack had extra items to purchase online. Final Fantasy XIII, one of their top selling titles, did not.

 

The next wave of console games from Square Enix will have paid downloadable content. Their investor’s briefing notes to strengthen paid downloadable content for future console titles. Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Hitman Absolution, Tomb Raider, and Final Fantasy XIII-2 are some of Square Enix’s near-future console releases.
