A demo has released alongside the Kickstarter for Wizard of Legend, a fast-paced 2D dungeon crawler where players control a quick, spell-flinging wizard.
The demo features a separate area from the main game’s procedurally-generated dungeons. It features a handful of spells and challenges that will be present in the main game, giving players a feel for the game’s magic and dashing-based combat.
A few more details on the game have been announced alongside the Kickstarter. While dungeons are procedurally-generated, enemy placement will be as well, but the game will give those enemies new behaviors and spells as players progress. Players will also be able to meet other allies while exploring.
Players have the option to choose from several wizards that each have an elemental specialty and choice of Arcana (cards that cast preset spells). Players can find new Arcana in the dungeon to expand their spell selection, but can only have a few equipped at a time. They can also acquire relics that enhance spells or give the player unique abilities.
Wizard of Legend will also place an emphasis on dashing to stay at range, carefully maintaining your distance and position in relation to enemies to use spells effectively.
Wizard of Legend is projected to release in January 2017.
