Eye of Judgment dated and priced for Japan

If you were wondering what the damage was going to be for Eye of Judgment bundle (game, camera, mat and cards) it will retail for 9,980 yen ($81) in Japan. Before anyone says “this is a great deal” or “it’s overpriced” remember Sony has not announced the US price yet and it is not uncommon for Japanese games to have a higher MSRP than US games. Guess what the MSRP for Final Fantasy XII was when it first came out? 8,990 yen ($70!) and you didn’t get a bonus DVD with it.

For me, $80 seems like a fair price for the Eye of Judgment because it is bundled with the camera. What I don’t like about the game is you have to continually purchase trading cards to strengthen your deck. So far three different sets of booster packs are going to come out with 100 cards in each set. Set one “the Biolith Rebellion” will come out when the Eye of Judgment is released on October 25. In February 2008 set two will come out and set three is scheduled to come out in June. The price for each four card booster pack has not be announced, but no matter what the cost is you are going to be spending extra money on the Eye of Judgment beyond buying the game.
