Fallen Legion Launches On PlayStation 4 And PlayStation Vita On July 25

Hi Siliconera readers,

I’m Spencer, founder of Siliconera and director on Fallen Legion. I have been really lucky working here since I was able to meet gaming icons around the world from Harvest Moon creator Yasuhiro Wada to Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata to BlazBlue creator Toshimichi Mori to Danganronpa writer Kodaka Kazutaka to the Star Ocean team at tri-Ace just to name a few. Talking with these brilliant designers inspired me to create a game. For the past three years I have been working on Fallen Legion – designing story branches, programming characters and sometimes even creating visual effects to make my dream RPG.

Fallen Legion is an intense action RPG where you simultaneously control up four characters. While you’re pressing X to make Zulfiqar to slice a drake, a draconian standing behind him is firing arrows at your party. Similar to a fighting game, you can block in real time and if you time a block right before an enemy attack hits you can stagger a foe or reflect a projectile. I think this longplay captures how fierce Fallen Legion’s fights can be.

Between battles against wyverns and sorcerers, you make decisions to rule your empire. The choices you make impact the game’s story and give your characters power-ups. Will you quell an uprising with the might of your army or use propaganda to placate a town? What if using propaganda doubled your HP? There are many paths to discover in Fallen Legion and each choice changes how your story will unfold.

While we were developing Fallen Legion, I saw many requests (some were even on Siliconera!) to bring the game to PlayStation Vita too. I’m happy to say that we did it – Fallen Legion is coming to PlayStation Vita and the Vita release is not a port.  In Fallen Legion: Sins of an Empire for PlayStation 4, you lead Princess Cecille and a saucy, talking grimoire on a journey to restore glory to her family’s crumbling empire. You control her rival, Legatus Laendur, who is leading an army to overthrow the royal family in Fallen Legion: Flames of Rebellion for PlayStation Vita. Players will see the war from conflicting perspectives in two different games. Each Fallen Legion title has a unique story, levels, story branches, and exclusive boss battles.

Fallen Legion: Sins of an Empire and Fallen Legion: Flames of Rebellion will be available in the Americas and Europe on July 25. Here’s a look at both of games.
