Hey! I’m Spencer, the creator of Siliconera. I tend not to say much about myself because Siliconera is about the games and not me, but since I’m the lead for this game I want to personally introduce it. For over a year, YummyYummyTummy (my tiny game studio) has been working with Mintsphere to create Fallen Legion for PlayStation 4.
Fallen Legion is set in Fenumia, a glorious kingdom rotting from the inside. Princess Cecille is the protagonist and at the beginning of the story, Cecille is leading a battalion when she learns her father has died. The crown passes from the departed king to Cecille along with a mysterious Grimoire. Cecille clutches the dusty book and is stunned when it begins to speak. This timeless tome can breathe life into legendary weapons and right before her eyes the legendary sword Zulfiqar rises as an armored knight. Cecille is determined to use this power not to save the world, but to restore glory to Fenumia. We haven’t said too much about the hooded man standing behind Cecille… hmm… I’ll just say he isn’t a friend.
The way that GamesRadar described Fallen Legion when they saw it at PlayStation Experience, “Fallen Legion is what happens when you reimagine Devil May Cry or Ninja Gaiden as a JRPG” sums up the concept we had in mind for the battle system! In Fallen Legion, players control four characters at the same time. There are no attack or defense phases either. Everything from knocking a drake out of the sky with a perfectly timed block to slicing through a goblin army happens in real time. Fallen Legion has a fighting game system at its core so players can create custom combos by switching characters and cancel attacks to do damaging link combos.
I also have a little sneak peek for the Siliconera readers. Here’s a monster that hasn’t been seen anywhere else. We’re working on this slithery fellow right now…
After announcing Fallen Legion on the PlayStation Blog and showing it at PSX, we started getting requests for a Vita version. I know we’ve got a vocal Vita fanbase on Siliconera, so I wanted to ask my readers – would you want to play this game on Vita? If people really want to see Fallen Legion on Vita we’ll look into it! Fallen Legion is scheduled to come out this summer.
