Farewell Front Mission Online

One of the disappointing occurrences from this console cycle change is seeing online enabled games shutting down forever. It happened to Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence, Resident Evil: Outbreak and the Gamecube version of Phantasy Star Online. At least all of those have offline modes. Front Mission Online not so much.

The PlayOnline enabled title made its debut almost three years ago in May 2005 on the PlayStation 2. At the end of May 2008 the servers go down forever, a bit of a surprise considering how Front Mission Online has a PC counterpart. If you’re one of the few people engaging in online mecha battles you may want to complete the Cast of Iron quest soon.

Farewell Front Mission Online we hardly knew you existed.
