Wizard of Legend, a dungeon crawler where players will fling fast, powerful, varied magics at their enemies in order to stay alive, has been announced for consoles alongside its Steam release, now coming to Xbox One, PS4, and the Nintendo Switch thanks to a publishing partnership with Humble.
Wizard of Legend puts players in control of a great wizard, one with access to one hundred different spells in the form of card-like Arcana. The player can access each of these with a button press (once they’ve acquired the card), causing catastrophic effects like explosive dragons hurling from their fists or spinning wheels of flames whirling around them. As single button inputs, it is designed to be simple for players to string these attacks together, creating their own combos with the spells they use.
Players can tackle the game’s procedurally-generated dungeons alone or with a friend (although they get harder if played on co-op). As they explore, they’ll be able to find various currencies and unlock items through the shopkeepers. Many of these items will persist through later runs, so if players die while exploring the dungeon (the game also features some roguelike elements), they’ll still have some new tools for the next run.
Wizard of Legend is set to release on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and the Nintendo Switch in Q1 2018. Interested players can wishlist it now on Steam and the Humble Store.
