At 3,990 yen ($54), Spirit Camera: The Possessed Notebook sounds pricey, but it’s actually the cheapest 3DS game in Japan. Nintendogs + cats, Steel Diver, and even Pokémon Rumble Blast were 4,800 yen ($62) a piece.
Tecmo Koei developed this Fatal Frame spinoff as an augmented reality game. It includes an AR notebook, which players can scan to enter the game’s world. Maya is inside and throughout the game’s main story you have to solve the mystery of the cursed notebook.
When Maya enters our world she brings angry spirits with her and you’ll use the 3DS’ camera to attack them. Spirit Camera: The Possessed Notebook comes out in Japan on January 12.
