Tecmo’s Fatal Frame team is working on a Nintendo 3DS game that makes use of the hardware’s 3D camera, reports Famitsu magazine. Spirit Photography: The Possessed Notebook isn’t a new game in the series, it’s an augmented reality spinoff.

Spirit Photography has a story mode where players have to solve the mystery of the violet notebook. The game includes something Temco Koei is calling an "AR Note," which is used for the game. Horror Note mode has additional mini-games that make use of the notepad. Ghost camera mode lets players take spirit photos and battle other ghosts.
Spirit Photography: The Possessed Notebook doesn’t have a release date at this time.
