Fatalities In Online Fighting Game Skara The Blade Remains Take A Lot Of Guts

The team behind the free-to-play multiplayer online versus (MOV) Skara The Blade Remains has announced that the game will be coming to Steam Early Access on October 9th. To celebrate the news, a new alpha gameplay video has been released that shows off the game’s bloody combat.

Skara The Blade Remains is a fighting game that supports for up to 16 online players. The close combat has a gladiatorial feel to it, with a focus on dodging, counter-attacks, and vicious fatalities. It all takes place in large arenas such as coliseums and moorlands that allow for plenty of movement and encourage people to work together to surround and flank opponents.

There are five different playable races to choose from, each of which come with their own weapons (spears, katanas, shields, swords) and fighting styles that will take time to master. You’re also able to customize your character’s look, armor, and even tweak their fighting style if you wish. Game modes on offer range from five minute slaughter fests to hours-long faction battles that’ll test your endurance.

Skara was successfully funded on Kickstarter back in July of this year, raising $36,015 in total. Those who pledged towards the game got special in-game weapons, alpha access, and lots of in-game currency to spend. Luckily, Skara isn’t pay-to-win and only allows for cosmetic items to be bought inside of the game.

If you missed the Kickstarter but still want to purchase one of the packages then you can do so on the game’s Pledge page where they are on offer. By paying the minimum of $19 you’ll get immediate access to the pre-alpha version of the game.
