Square Enix announced the Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII storyline will continue in FFVII Ever Crisis with a new second chapter event on March 25, 2026. A first trailer is available that teases how much will be covered this time. In addition to Azul the Cerulean and Shelke the Transparent showing up, it also looks like we might get a Nero the Sable boss fight in this FFVII spin-off. Everything kicks off at 7pm PT/10pm ET.
As seen in the initial Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII event in FFVII Ever Crisis, this is a condensed retelling of the follow-up game that starred Vincent Valentine. It explored his past and abilities, while also going over Shinra’s Deepground soldiers. He’s called upon by Reeve Tuesti’s WRO to investigate and handle the issues caused by the group, with assistance from a scientist named Shalua Rui and some returning characters like Yuffie Kisaragi. The first chapter event featured altercations and storyline segments with Rosso the Crimson and Azul. It seemed like that ended around the events of Chapter 4 in the PS2 game. Given we’re seeing an encounter with Nero and a 3D model of him performing what seems to be an in-battle attack, it would suggest this second part covers up through the tenth chapter of Dirge of Cerberus: FFVII.
Here’s the latest FFVII Ever Crisis trailer:
Prior to this continuing event, Square Enix celebrated the 2.5 anniversary in FFVII Ever Crisis. That meant new equipment for some characters. Things started with special costumes and weapons for Sephiroth and Tifa Lockheart, and more recently involved gear and swords for Angeal Hewley and Zack Fair.
Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is available for PCs and mobile devices, and the Dirge of Cerberus: FFVII Chapter 2 event will start at 7pm PT/10pm ET on March 25, 2026. The Dirge of Cerberus game is only available on the PS2.
