Square Enix teased a 9S costume for Cloud for the FFVII Ever Crisis crossover with NieR: Automata. As part of its reveals for the event, it shared the Event Panel Missions in-game Home wallpaper, which features him alongside Tifa in the NieR: Automata 2B costume and Yuffie dressed as 10H from NieR Reincarnation. We don’t know how the gear and weapon might be acquired in-game yet, however.
Here’s the full NieR: Automata event wallpaper, which is called “Glory to Mankind.” Tifa is in the NieR: Automata 2B costume for the event on the left, while Cloud is next to her on the right in the 9S gear. She’s wearing her Demon’s Impetus gloves, while he has a sword resting on the wreckage beside him. Yuffie stands behind the two of them in her NieR: Reincarnation 10H costume and holds her Fatum Ex Machina.
In order to get this “Glory to Mankind” wallpaper of the characters in NieR: Automata outfits, you need to go through the 2B Incursion Event Panel Missions. Square Enix didn’t note which ones result in it. It did confirm that both this and the Whirling Ravager Enemy will be part of the rewards we get.
FFVII Ever Crisis is available for the PC and mobile devices, and the NieR: Automata event runs between November 27, 2025 and January 7, 2026. NieR: Automata is available for the Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and the anime based on it is streaming on Crunchyroll.
