The Tweet starts with a brief description of Costa del Sol. It’s a resort that started out as a small seaside town. After the Junon War, Shinra turned the town into a bustling resort town aimed at tourists. In Remake, the challenge for the team was how to expand on the scale of the town while still keeping the same atmosphere as in the original. The team believes it did a good job in making Costa del Sol feel like a big resort town in FFVII Rebirth while still keeping familiar elements like the sloping orange roofs and the familiar bridge landmark.

Since Final Fantasy VII Remake came out, Square Enix has used the “FFVIIR_CLOUD” account to broadcast not only information about the remake trilogy, but also behind-the-scenes trivia about development. In the past, it shared information on how the team designed Zack’s model, Cloud’s dress model, and Rufus’s outfit.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC. The sequel, Rebirth, is on PS5 and Windows PC.
