Earlier in April 2026, Square Enix and Asahi teased some sort of collaboration between Final Fantasy VII and one of the company’s drinks multiple times, and now we knew it all had to do with a FFVII Remake Sephiroth Future Lemon Sour commercial. One of the selling points of the drink is the inclusion of real lemon slices in the can, and the familiar villain is seen cutting them before actually drinking the alcoholic beverage. Asahi and Square Enix also announced that a Lemon’s Heaven take on Tifa’s Seventh Heaven bar will be open in Tokyo’s Roppongi Hills.

The lead up to the actual ad involved imagery for Asahi Future Lemon Sour’s three varieties showing the Original, Koime, and Plain versions of the drink on a Midgar Today SNNet News report. (That’s the in-game news show in FFVII Remake.) We also saw images of the three cans with the game’s logo, and Asahi shared a fake invoice from Lemon’s Heaven for 300 cans of Future Lemon Sour.

Here is the full Sephiroth FFVII Remake Asahi Future Lemon Sour commercial:

In the past, we’ve seen Sephiroth used to advertise other products. He appeared in a Cup Noodles commercial in 2024, for example.

As for the pop-up, there are a few details about what to expect from Lemon’s Heaven. It is only for attendees who are 20 and over. It will be at the Roppongi Hills complex in Minato, Tokyo. This will only be open during Golden Week, which runs between April 29, 2026 and May 3, 2026. 60 people can be inside at a time. In addition to all three varieties of Future Lemon Sour, there will be other soft drinks available.

Here’s the mock-up for how that will look:

Final Fantasy VII Remake is available for the Switch 2, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and FFVII Rebirth is on the PS5 and PC now and will come to the Switch 2 and Xbox Series X on June 3, 2026. Asian grocery stores in the US may sell Asahi Future Lemon Sour.
