At PAX East 2023, one of the fan questions for FFXIV Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida asked if there would ever be more details about the Heart of Sabik. Details about that Ultima Weapon auracite have been vague. However, Yoshida noted that it will come up again during the game. He also said people can expect to hear about it in the “near future.”

We might not delve 100% into it, but we do anticipate having some narrative that involves discussion of the Heart of Sabik. I’m not going to say what in particular. But just look forward to it.
Yoshida then followed that up by saying it would come up again sometime in the “near future.” He didn’t elaborate as to how it might reappear.
Square Enix still left much about the Heart of Sabik a mystery since it came up. It powers The Ultima Weapon, and it was touched upon during The Sorrow of Werlyt storyline.
During the panel, Yoshida also talked about the 7.0 graphics update. He also teased that the team is working on higher estate furnishing limits for 7.X.
