The annual The Rising Final Fantasy XIV event is about to return next week, and Square Enix announced the 2025 installment of the event references FFXIV Dawntrail with a Wind-up Gulool Ja Ja Minion. We can start working toward earning the item on August 27, 2025.
To kick things off, we’ll need to head to Limsa Lominsa, Upper Desks. A Wandering Minstrel will be at X:11.3, Y:13.7. As long as a player is at level 15, they can take on “An Adventurous Ambition” to earn this year’s reward. Actually finishing Dawntrail isn’t involved or required.
We first met Gulool Ja Ja in FFXIV Dawntrail once we reached Tuliyollal, and the Mamool Ja Minion based on the character has two heads just like him. As part of the MSQ storyline, we watched him search for his successor.

As usual, Square Enix noted past The Rising rewards will show up once this year’s event kicks off. The 2024 “prize” was another Minion. That time, we could get Brushed-Up Krile Minion. That version of her looks like a Pictomancer.
Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and The Rising event will appear in FFXIV between August 27, 2025 and September 11, 2025.
