As part of Famitsu’s game developer End of Year interviews, FFXVI Director Hiroshi Takai teased the appearance of protagonist Clive Rosfield in “another world.” Takai didn’t offer any details on which world Clive could visit in the future. [Thanks, Famitsu!]
When Takai was asked for an update on current activities, the director said that he can’t officially say anything about what he’s currently working on, and that he thinks his next work might be announced not too long from now. It was after this when Takai said that FFXVI protagonist Clive may be going to “another world.”
Takai saying that Clive might appear in another world is a reference to his appearance as the latest DLC character for Tekken 8. The announcement of Clive as the next fighter in the latest Tekken entry appeared on December 12, 2024 as part of The Game Awards 2024, and he released later on December 20.
As part of the same interview, Takai was asked for his plans and hopes for 2025. He said that it is difficult to predict what the new year will bring, but he feels a mixed of anticipation and excitement.
Final Fantasy XVI is readily available for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. Meanwhile, Tekken 8 is available for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
