Square Enix announced a Final Fantasy 40th Anniversary: The Crystal Edition CD and vinyl album that features one song from the soundtrack of each of the 16 mainline games in the series. It will release worldwide, with the official site now open. This will debut on January 6, 2027. North American and European product pages aren’t live yet, so we don’t know the prices for those regions. However, in Japan it will be 3,600 yen (~$23) for the CD and 8,000 yen (~$51) for the record.
While this will be a one-CD album, it will consist of two records if you get Final Fantasy 40th Anniversary: The Crystal Edition vinyl version. In each case, one of the most notable and recognizable tracks from the entry’s soundtrack is used to represent it. So “One-Winged Angel” is used for FFVII and “Blinded by Light” is the FFXIII track.
Here’s the full track listing for this commemorative release.
- “Main Theme” – FFI
- “The Rebel Army” – FFII
- “Eternal Wind” – FFIII
