Square Enix and Mobage partnered to make a Final Fantasy social game. Yes, Knights of the Crystal has Final Fantasy elements, but technically it’s in its own universe. Final Fantasy Brigade has Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy style artwork and familiar monsters.
Final Fantasy Brigade has a simple story to get players started. An ancient kingdom responsible for guarding crystals was invaded by monsters. The crystals lost their radiance and now its your job to restore their luster. Players will travel the world and master different jobs by completing quests. Concept art shows black mage, white mage, red mage, warrior, paladin, dark knight, and thief are some of the classes you can choose from. Ifrit, Shiva, Bahamut, and Odin are also in the game as mythical beasts players have to fight.
Final Fantasy Brigade isn’t just player vs. monster. There’s a PvP element where your party can fight with your friends. The game uses old school heroes on the right, enemies on the left turn based battles which makes me curious how Final Fantasy deathmatches are going to work. And what happens when one player wins? Does the victor get to take another person’s gold and weapons as war trophies just like other Final Fantasy games?
