While you’re waiting for Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers Square Enix plans to keep you busy with Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time. This entry in the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles series is an action RPG for the Wii and Nintendo DS. The cross platform Pollux Engine lets four people play together on either system via Nintendo Wi-Fi.
A scan from Shonen Jump explains you use a control system designed for the remote on the Wii and a stylus interface on the Nintendo DS. The comparison screen shoot makes the Wii and DS versions look nearly identical. You can even upload your Mii created character to your Nintendo DS!
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time comes out in Japan real soon. They get the game on January 29 for the Wii and the Nintendo DS. No North American release has been announced at this time, but this seems like a project Square Enix will localize. We just don’t know where it is sitting in Square Enix USA’s schedule.
Update: Adam reminded me in the tips (thanks!!) about the Echoes of Time trademark we discovered back in July. Now that Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes Of Time is out of the bag the trademark is obviously related to the Nintendo DS/Wii game. I guess that’s a good sign it will be localized then too.
