OverClocked Remix has released its music album Final Fantasy IX: Worlds Apart to celebrate the game’s 15th anniversary this year. You can listen to it for free on its website.

The album contains 58 tracks composed by 57 artists all directed by BAFTA-winning Alien: Isolation sound team member Cain "Fishy" McCormack. “Twice in interviews, Mr. Uematsu has said that the Final Fantasy IX soundtrack is his favourite of the series, and you can definitely tell he got carried away given the depth on display,” McCormack said. “Even if you don’t agree that it’s his best, I definitely think it’s the most cohesive effort in the series.”

Game-Art-HQ also partnered on the album to pay tribute to Final Fantasy IX’s character design and artwork with 19 visual art pieces submitted by its community – all of it can be found on the website. As to the album’s cover art, that was designed by Kevin Merriman whose work was recently included in UDON’s upcoming art book Capcom Fighting Tribute.
