Square Enix has revealed that it will produce and sell a new kind of Final Fantasy merchandise in Japan. The Final Fantasy Series Mini Melody TV collection will be available in the country in late January 2027.
These items will be similar to the music boxes Square Enix has released earlier. But while the earlier music boxes were based on traditional mechanisms, these ones will play the 8-bit or 16-bit tracks from the first six Final Fantasy mainline entries. Each set will require an AAA battery to run, and the owner will be able to turn it on or off by pressing the front button.
Here is the list of titles and songs included in this lineup:
- Final Fantasy – “Opening Theme”
- Final Fantasy II – “The Rebel Army”
- Final Fantasy III – “Eternal Wind”
- Final Fantasy IV – “The Red Wings”
- Final Fantasy V – “Battle at the Big Bridge”
- Final Fantasy VI – “Searching for Friends”
Square Enix has also published a preview trailer for these mini TVs on its Japanese YouTube channel:
A package containing a random item from the lineup will be available at ¥1,980 (~$12.35) apiece. People will also be able to purchase a box of six packages for ¥11,880 (~$74), but Square Enix notes that it still won’t guarantee that one could get all six unique versions at once due to the randomness.
The Final Fantasy Series Mini Melody TV will be available in Japan on January 29, 2027.
