Final Fantasy VII Remake PlayStation Plus PS4 Version Cannot be Upgraded to PS5 Version

Final Fantasy VII Remake will be heading to PlayStation Plus in March. A description hidden away in the Japanese PlayStation Store revealed that the game will be available as part of the roster of PlayStation Plus games available to Japanese audiences. However, the PS4 version available through PlayStation Plus will not be available to upgrade to the PS5 version of the game. This information was revealed through aibo_ac7, a Twitter account that posted the information found within the fine text. The text states that the free version of Final Fantasy VII Remake for the PS4 obtained through PlayStation Plus cannot be upgraded to the PS5 version, though an exact reason was not disclosed. This means that users that have not purchased Final Fantasy VII Remake for the PS4 will not be available to upgrade their copy for free.

It was recently revealed that Yuffie would make an appearance in Final Fantasy VII Remake through an upcoming DLC. This chapter will primarily focus the mischievous ninja. However, characters from Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus were also shown during the short trailer.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is immediately available for the PlayStation 4, with a PlayStation 5 version scheduled to arrive on June 10, 2021. Final Fantasy VII Remake will be available on March 2, 2021 through PlayStation Plus subscription service.
