During its E3 2019 media briefing, Square Enix announced it will finally be bringing Final Fantasy VIII back. A Final Fantasy VIII remaster will appear in 2019 for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. People will once again be able to follow Squall, Rinoa, and the students from various Gardens as they deal with the sorceress Edea

 

This comes after a number of Final Fantasy ports and remasters. Both the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One received Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster, and Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age ports in 2019.

Final Fantasy VIII originally appeared on the PlayStation in 1999. A PC port followed a year later in 2000. Final Fantasy VIII Remastered will come to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2019.
