Square Enix has announced that it will run a Final Fantasy X-themed museum as part of celebrations for the game’s 25th anniversary. This museum will appear temporarily in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan, in September 2026.
The company has also opened an official website for the anniversary museum. It teases that the venue will also have a booth selling Final Fantasy X-related merchandise. A placeholder tab is also reserved for entry tickets, although the cost of the tickets has yet to be determined.
In addition, Square Enix is also extending the fan art submission form to also allow Japanese residents to post simple text-based comments about Final Fantasy X. It will close the form on July 31, 2026, and pick highlighted fan art and comments to be shown at the museum.
The temporary museum will take place at Lumine 0, which is directly accessible from the Shinjuku train station building. The opening duration of the museum will also coincide with Tokyo Game Show 2026, which will take place on September 17-21, 2026. Square Enix’s pop-up store at the Narita Airport would also still be open around the same time.
The Final Fantasy X 25th Anniversary Museum, which celebrates the game’s first release for PlayStation 2 in Japan in July 2001, will appear at Lumine 0 on the 5th floor of NEWoMan Shinjuku in Tokyo, Japan, from September 12 to 27, 2026.
