Square Enix is about to re-release Final Fantasy XIII… again. Ultimate Hits Final Fantasy XIII for PlayStation 3 and Ultimate Hits International Final Fantasy XIII Platinum Collection (say that three times fast!) for Xbox 360 are scheduled to arrive in stores on July 21, according to Square Enix’s online e-Store.

The "Ultimate Hits" line is Square Enix’s own budget label. After sales taper down, Square Enix re-releases their hit games with a silver stripe on the packaging. Both versions will retail for 3,990 yen ($49).

In Japan, Final Fantasy XIII for PlayStation 3 has Japanese voice acting, the original theme song "Kimi ga Iru Kara," and Japanese subtitles. The Xbox 360 release only has English voice acting and Leona Lewis’ song "My Hands," but has English and Japanese subtitles. Square Enix also created an easy mode and added the Final Fantasy XIII – Corridor of Memory – booklet which details unused event scenes and an after story starring Lightning.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 is slated for release this year on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in Japan.
