In Chocobo Racing, you’ll get to ride and control your very own Chocobo, to gain experience points and ranks. Chocobos can learn new abilities and acquire more attribute points by ranking up.

After a while, you’ll get to retire your Chocobo from racing, and it can then be used to breed with other Chocobos. Their offspring can inherit abilities from their parents, making it possible to create better race Chocobos down the line.

The Triple Triad card game will also be added in the 2.51 update. Similar to the game in Final Fantasy VIII, there will be many cards to collect, and you’ll also get to play against players or NPCs. Check out our earlier report for  more details on how it’s played.

Similar to how there are FATEs in the regular field (Full Active Time Event), the Gold Saucer has GATEs (Gold Saucer Active Time Event). Instead of fighting monsters, you’ll participate in events that will have you be the last one standing from monstrous nose-breaths, or be a part of dancing mini-games.

The above GATE is based on Final Fantasy VII’s Mt. Corel, where you’ll need to help out a little Chocobo minion.

There are various other GATE games as well, and most of them are pretty simple events that are easy to follow.

Similar to Final Fantasy VII’s Gold Saucer, there are various mini-games you’ll get to play. You might not be able to get much out of them, but they’re a great way to kill some time.

The “Cactpot” is a Cactuar lottery system at the Gold Saucer, where you’ll get to purchase tickets with the once-a-week “Junbo Cactpot” or the daily “Mini Cactpot” for a chance to win rewards.

Finally, here’s a closer look at all the items you can get, in exchange for Manderville Gold Points:
