Final Fantasy XIV Patch 5.3 launches on August 11, 2020, and Square Enix provided the full patch notes. In this major update, we’ll get a conclusion to the Shadowbringers story and the second part of the NieR: Automata collaboration raid. It will also bring big changes to the A Realm Reborn parts of the game.

Final Fantasy XIV Patch 5.3
New Main Scenario Quests have been added
Chronicles of a New Era – YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse
The Sorrow of Werlyt
Players will need to complete the “Ruby Doomsday” Chronicles of a New Era quest to unlock.
Dwarf Tribe Quests
Disciple of the Hand will get to see some more Tribe quest action in Final Fantasy XIV Patch 5.3 with the new Dwarf Tribe quests. These main quests and daily quests will feature an automatic level adjustment system known as Quest Sync. This will help by matching the difficulty to the player’s current class level.
Main Scenario Quests for A Realm Reborn Revamped
A number of A Realm Reborn quests have been revised or removed to ensure a smoother journey for new players. These adjustments will not affect the overall story. However, certain quests can no longer be progressed through or accepted. Journey entries for these quests will no longer appear as well.
Mounts can now fly in A Realm Reborn areas
Players will need to complete the Main Scenario Quest “The Ultimate Weapon” in order to fly in the A Realm Reborn areas.
