Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Reveals Rogue And Ninja

During the Square Enix Presents: E3 2014 Live, we got a special edition of Letter from the Producer, where producer and director Naoki Yoshida provided a first look at the newest class and job for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.

After showing some footage of the Rogue and Ninja in action, where Square showed off their swift movement and abilities, they shared a few more details on the upcoming new class and job.

Yoshi-P revealed during the stream that the Rogues were once thieves, who’ve changed into Rogues, so they’ll have their own story and guild to go with it. Otherwise, it would’ve been a little tricky to have an establishment of thieves in a city-state.

The Rogue class are also a little faster when it comes to movement on the field. They also take less fall damage compared to other classes. As far as attacks go, the Rogues use poison on their blades as part of their class actions. There will be different types of poisons for various situations.

The Rogues are considered a stealth-type class, and will have certain actions that involve being invisible.

The Ninja job will use the daggers and have its abilities from the Rogue class, but will also have some ninjutsu skills to go with it. They will be done through certain combinations that can be mixed around for various effects, they can also be messed up.

The Rogue and Ninja will be released for patch 2.4, according to the producer, which has yet to get a release date or window. As far as the first expansion goes, it is still a ways off, and they’ll talk about it a little more in the near future.
