Final Fantasy XIV Scales Down From 18 Worlds To 10

Final Fantasy XIV is merging worlds on March 27, 2012. The eighteen worlds named after Final Fantasy locales like Gysahl, Mysidia, and Fabul will be squished into ten new worlds. Square Enix recommends German and French speaking players to move to New World 10 so it’s easier to find other players that speak the same native tongue.

Players will be able to world hop for a limited time between March 1 and March 12. The world merger will dissolve Linkshells (although your "follows" will carry over) and may require some players to change their character name. Only one Serah Farron per server, sorry.
