Yesterday North America got the greatest virtual console line up to date with Super Mario Brothers, Toe Jam & Earl, Super Castelvania IV, Street Fighter 2 and R-Type. Japan’s virtual console shop was updated today with four games, but nothing jaw dropping. Sim City is being sold for 900 points, that’s an extra 100 Wii Points over the North American price. You might not recall the name, Ninja Jajamaru Kun, but Jaleco’s platformer has a cult following. The little red ninja who is out to save princess Sakura jumps through levels in the Famicom classic. R-Type III: Third Lighting, which was developed specifically for the Super Nintendo sells for 800 points. Not a bad pick if you’re done with the TurboGrafx-16 version. The big game this week is Fire Emblem: Monsho no Nazo, the first Fire Emblem on the Super Famicom. This is the Fire Emblem that featured Marth and his journey to find the Falchion sword and the Fire Emblem to rescue his sister Ellis. Just because Fire Emblem is on the Japanese virtual console list it still needs to be localized before we see it outside of the territory.
To sum it up:
Famicom
Ninja Jajamaru Kun – 500 points
Super Famicom
Fire Emblem: Monsho no Nazo – 900 points
R-Type III: Third Lighting – 800 points
Sim City – 900 points
