We first heard back in 2015 that Fire Emblem Fates was getting a manga from its own character designer Yusuke Kozaki and writer Shin Kibayashi, but it looks like it won’t be happening anytime soon. [Thanks, Serenes Forest.]

Yusuke Kozaki, who was the character designer from Fire Emblem Awakening and Fire Emblem Fates, shared the following message on his Twitter account:

“Regarding the Fire Emblem manga, due to various circumstances, right now the plans have essentially been suspended. Everyone who was looking forward to it, we are deeply sorry. Personally speaking, I would like to draw FE as a manga one way or another.”

When the manga was announced in July 2015, the plan was to have artist Kozaki team up with Shin Kibayashi, the story director for Fire Emblem Fates for a new manga that was expected to release sometime around the end of 2015. We haven’t heard much about it since then, but after reading Kozaki’s tweet, it looks like it’ll be a while until we finally get to check out the manga, that is if it ever ends up happening.
