Regardless of which version you play, you’ll get to unlock the other route as a DLC for 2,000 yen, by choosing “open a new future” option on the main menu. Once you purchase an alternate scenario, the game will add three save data to go with it.

Dengeki reports that the third scenario, which will have you face another group, rather than the Black or White Kingdom, will release in Japan sometime in the middle of July. There will also be additional stages and other content available to download.

As previously reported, the third scenario will have just about the same amount story volume as Fire Emblem Awakening, and so will both sides of the story from the Black Kingdom and White Kingdom.

Additionally, there are two new 3DS themes that are now available for 200 yen each. The Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright will feature characters from the White Kingdom with Ryoma, Hinoka, Takumi, Sakura, with their family crest design for the folders. There will be music that represents the morning glow with a solemn background.

The theme for Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest is based on the Black Kingdom, with characters like Marx, Camilla, Leon, and Elise. It also has their family crest on the folders, along with a calm background music that represents the quiet night of the Black Kingdom.

Fire Emblem If is slated for release in Japan on June 25, 2015 and in the West in 2016 for Nintendo 3DS.
