First Official Kirby Art Book Announced by HAL Laboratory

A Kirby art book was recently announced by the series developer, HAL Laboratory. This will be the first official art book for the series from HAL Laboratory itself. The book will feature over 500 pieces of artwork from Star Allies, including art from the three sets of post-launch updates. In addition to sketches, scenery, and development art, the book will also include interviews and messages from key members of the development team.

Kirby Star Allies: The Original Art Book will be available in two versions: a standard edition and a signed edition with signatures from the creators at HAL Laboratory. Only 40 signed books will be available in total, and fans will need to enter into a drawing to get one.

The book is scheduled to release on March 16, 2021. Pre-orders for both versions are available now, though entry for the signed edition’s drawing is only open until October 31. Both versions will cost 2,970 yen (including tax) and are sold through ValueMall. However, shipping outside of Japan is not available, so overseas Kirby fans will have to use a 3rd party service.

Kirby has steadily become one of Nintendo’s premier franchises. The most recent mainline game was Kirby Star Allies in 2018, but multiple spin-off games get released every year. We even got a new title, Kirby Fighters 2, just this past week.

Pre-orders for Kirby Star Allies: The Original Art Book are available now on ValueMall’s website.
