First Sonic Mania Plus Developer Diary Video Released

Ahead of the Sonic Mania Plus launch, Sega has announced a developer diary series. The first entry of a two-part has been released and focuses on the update’s art and design. Kazuyuki Hoshino, Sonic Team’s Creative Director, and Tom Fry, the Art Director, both speak about what went into Sonic Mania Plus.

The Sonic Mania Plus first developer diary begins by talking about Mighty and Ray. Hoshino notes that people were looking for them since Sonic Generations’ “Missing” posters featuring them appeared. It then goes on to bringing them and their personalities into the game, since not many design assets were available due to them being older SegaSonic the Hedgehog characters.

Sonic Mania Plus will come to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on July 17, 2018. Sonic Mania is immediately available.
