When you arrive to your dig site to find your team missing, your camp trashed, and a mysterious voice over the radio offering valuable tools and help in exchange for finding outlandish fossils, players have no choice but to start digging in Fossil Hunters.
Players must dig through several different layers of various digging areas, choosing whether to carefully pick at the earth with delicate tools, or use more powerful drills, hammers, and dynamite to cut through huge swaths of earth. Players may find more things by hurrying along, but cave-ins, underground creatures, and simple darkness can make for some difficulties when trying to dig.
As players unearth fossils, they will be able to snap them together with the other bone sets they find, using them to create different species of dinosaurs for the Fossil Board in their base. These bones can also be used in a sandbox mode that will let players put together any bones they have found to create whatever creature they so choose, allowing players to get creative with their findings.
Fossil Hunters is currently raising funding on Kickstarter, and is projected to release in early 2018.
