Four New Spiritfarer Characters Will Be Added in 2021

Big updates are headed to Spiritfarer in 2021. Thunder Lotus announced it has three free patches planned for the game. Each one of these updates will add new Spiritfarer characters to meet, quality of life adjustments, and additional gameplay elements and mechanics. The first one, “Lily,” will be out in Spring 2021.

For the sake of avoiding spoilers, for those who might not have played Spiritfarer, we won’t discuss details about the new characters here. Details about Beverly, Daria, Jackie, and Lily appear in the Thunder Lotus announcement. They offer some hints about who they are and connections they have to existing people in the game.

The Spring 2021 update will add Lily to the game. This will also add two big gameplay changes. The first is that people will be able to engage in cooperative fishing. Previously, fishing was only a solo affair for the person controlling Stella. You will also be able to travel at night after Lily arrives. Previously, all travel would stop and you’d have to go to bed.

In Summer 2021, people will get to meet Beverly. She’s the second of the new Spiritfarer characters. Her update adds her and an Archive Room to your boat. When you go around the world, you can get Acetate Sheets and view them there.

The last announced update for 2021 will be Fall 2021 Jackie & Daria one. This will add the two characters, who have their own little storyline and island to visit.

There’s also a way to temporarily hop into Spiritfarer for less money before that update appears. The game is on sale for the Switch and for PCs via Steam until February 15, 2021. It’s temporarily $22.49. It is also a part of the Xbox Game Pass collection at the moment.

Spiritfarer is available for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia. The first one of the new Spiritfarer characters will appear in Spring 2021 alongside co-op fishing.
