This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

Tetris Effect is about to celebrate its first anniversary. However, the surprise for that “celebration” has been spoiled. To get people thinking and talking about the game again, a free Tetris Effect dynamic theme is coming to the PlayStation 4. It is immediately available in the US PlayStation Store, and it will be coming to both Asia and Europe around November 21, 2019.

The funny thing is how this was discovered. Wario64 shared a link to the US version of this dynamic theme on Twitter. Then, Enhance Games’ Mark MacDonald offered an explanation. This is a one year anniversary item that was going to be announced when it was live everywhere. Apparently, more news will be coming alongside the official announcement when it does show up in other stores.

Er, surprise! :) Thanks to all our fans on our 1yr anniv! We were gonna wait until it’s out in all regions (EU & Asia ETA 11/21) to announce this, figured no one would notice it quietly going live on PSN…but we forgot about Wario64 More news coming w official announce soon! https://t.co/ZyDDWDhMgb

As a reminder, people who have Tetris Effect may want to keep an eye out for weekend events. That’s how you can end up getting to see the 1989 secret stage inspired by the original game.

Tetris Effect is available on the PlayStation 4 and on the PC. (It is an Epic Games Store exclusive on PCs.)
